A friend of mine invited me to a game of badminton. If you are unfamiliar with the game, think tennis, and replace the ball with a birdie.
Anyhoo, it was fairly easy and I was hitting the birdies like it was no one’s business, until .. she tossed the birdie to the left and then to the right and then to the left and then to the right. I was caught off guard and lost the game!!!
She gave me feedback that I had to keep shuffling on my feet in order to prepare myself for where the birdie might land, instead of standing in one spot and hoping that it lands perfectly in my hands.
Same concept for life, yes? How often do we just stand in one spot hoping for life to go perfectly? We need to have a bit of hustle in order to catch life at its best, and win.
So, if you my dear reader are standing in one spot (like me) hoping to lose weight, get that job that pays a higher salary, get higher grades, be a better writer, <fill in the blank> – then please start shuffling a bit. It might look different for everyone, for example – I need to lose a few pounds (doctor’s orders), just walking is not going to cut it for me (I have been doing that for a looooong time). I am going to shuffle and get a gym membership and expose myself to HIIT, yoga, Zumba and so on.
